Abstract:In order to find out the power of the “3·21” chemical explosion accident in Xiangshui Chemical Industrial Park of Yancheng, the explosion site was surveyed, and the accident data were collected and analyzed systematically. On the basis of a series of key parameters such as crater size, particle vibration velocity and building damage radius, the TNT equivalent of this explosion accident was determined to be 340 tons using three different methods. The distribution and damage characteristics of surrounding buildings at the site of the explosion disaster were further analyzed. Combined with the propagation law of blast wave and relevant specifications, the damage of buildings and the loss of life under this explosion accident were evaluated. The evaluation results show that suffering the impact of the blast wave, the radius of casualty is 227 m, the safety radius for life is 573 m, the destruction radius of buildings is 265 m, and the safety radius for buildings is 1 626 m.
